PURIKURA POWER!!!

Well, I really don't know about the origins of purikura, but it came from Japan and it is supah fun! "Purikura" is the combo of part of how you would pronounce "Print Club" in Japanese... as "purinto kurabu". Thus you get ~purikura~!
Purikura machines can be found in arcades in Japan and just about anywhere that youth gather. They are usually upright machines that are a little less wide than an arcade video game machine. They generally have a curtain in front of them, and what you do, is get behind the curtain, where you will see a screen. You have a buttons you can use to toggle through the menu options on the screen, and decide if you want your picture to have a cute CG border or not, and then you will get your picture taken and it will be printed out as a little sticker. Most machines take only one picture per payment, but some take 2 or 4 different poses. I have also seen some that will take 16 different poses and give you one of each. There are many different takes on the purikura idea. Some machines have a light pen that will let you draw on the image. Some are double-exposure machines where you can take one picture and then superimpose another over it. Some machines are for full-body shots.Not all purikura are stickers either.. sometimes you can make purikura trading cards, stationary, or whatever. There are many kinds of purikura machines out there. There is even a new portable purikura camera that you can buy in Japan, and it's not too expensive... problem is that the film is . Until recently, purikura was a Japan-only thing, but it is slowly spreading out to other countries, most notably USA, Europe, and other East Asian countries. In Japan, purikura can be found everywhere, but in other countries, you may only find the machines in big cities and in tourist attractions.
This page is where I, Evan Hayden, will be showcasing the purikura I do solo, and/or with my friends. While most people just smile when they take purikura, I try to have some wacky fun with it... enjoy!
